A news writer with a bad sense of humour and questionable degree of empathy, Qishin Tariq spent four years with the Star newspaper's court beat, making light reading and terrible headlines of daily crime news and the occasional landmark case. He now writes for technology but occasionally goes back to the courtrooms for specific cases, most recently the corruption trial of Pekan MP Najib Razak.
